Awesome... I was looking for this merging thing too!

I always like the old film strip free fame effect where you could tile a video clip, but each tile would display a different frame of the video. Like on long film strip!
True, the filmstrip plugin was a great effect! If this is what sburke1 wants...

-Open the same clip on 4 layers and place them in your composition. (what i described before)
-Start each clip just after the other on loop
-Enjoy

Not the most elegant way to achive this effect, but it should work ;)

Hello again,

To Clarify, I don't want the 4up effect. I want 4 videos playing all layered. Then..... I want a button that would automatically send each layer to a corner. Either this or something like the AB crossfader, but ABCD VideoPlacer for each corner so I could just click on C and send the video to bottom left, or D and send a video to bottom right, or A and send the video to top left. etc. I know I can achieve this with manually by moving the file, but that workflow is not quick or steady enough for a live show. I need something easy that I can hit and that I know will make the videos the exact right size. I'm thinking there could be that little ABCD box, right next to the AB.

About the scrambled videos. I still get scrambled order when dragging in multiple files to R3. Whether I organize the finder by name or date. I tried clicking on the first , then last video in the bunch I am selecting. I wonder if R3 is lookin to sort by date, or size. Sometimes it is backwards, sometimes it is scrambled. Thanks.

I'm working on an effect sequencer now that will do this, pretty much exactly. In addition, you'll be able to sequence the layer moves.

Did you see the multi-editor patch I posted?

viewtopic.php?f=13&t=5825

That basically lets you change all the accessible parameters for all the clips on a layer, in one shot. I think that addresses one of your points, about global changes to multiple clips.

Hey gpvillamil, yes i did. Thanks a bunch!. You are the newly appointed middleman for R3, ha ha ha. But really thanks a bunch.

Did you happen to see my query about your clock smoother patch also sending traditional midi clock as well as smooth clock, so I don't have to hit the resync button. I am new to osc and maybe my request is a tough one. But I really would like to be able to sync better.

I recently did a show with 2 sets. The second set we stayed at about 130 bpm for 45 minutes. All I had to do was hit one "perfect" resync and I was fine. The first set had tons of tempo changes, basically forcing me to give up on audio in r3. I would really love to sync fully in r3 and don't want to go exploring the other VJ apps although everyone keeps telling me to when I tell them my sync problems. Thanks again.
