several problems/questions

Post by crasse »

Hi there :) !

I'm practicing resolume since several weeks and I got some questions/issues with it.

For information, I'm using resolume 3.1.1 demo version on XP SP2. (all my vids are encoded with the dxv codec)

My comp is a HP Compaq 8710p with those specs :
# Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 Processor (Santa Rosa, 2.0GHz, 4MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB)
# Microsoft Genuine Windows Vista Business
# 17.0” WSXGA+ Display (1680 x 1050)
# 512MB (256MB Dedicated) nVidia Quadro NVS 320M GPU
# 2GB DDR2 667MHz RAM (1x2GB Configuration and quickly upgraded to 4GB)
# 160GB 5400RPM Fujitsu 2.5” HDD
First, something a bit annoying when i'm doing live performance, I can't start resolume when Windows is in Dual screen mode (in a purpose to use a projector), resolume crash everytime at launching. So what I do is putting windows in single screen mode (with the projector as the main screen), start resolume and then restore dual screen mode, And I put output fullscreen on display 1 (the projector), then I drag the resolume control panel on the second screen (my comp) but this way, the preview window on the control panel isn't displaying anything (so I got to watch the projector screen to synchronise movies with music, what is not very easy if the screen i behind me xD).
is there a solution, maybe a problem with my GPU/drivers or something like this ?

The other little problem is that I use to create lot's of decks (cause I'm doing long performance so I need lot's of different videos) but resolume can just display 13 deck's tabs , the other ones are visible by opening the tab window on the right of the tab line, so it's ok, but I can't rename them (as I do by clicking on first 13 ones's names). The got's name like Untitled-14 , 15 , 16... so this is not very easy to recognize them. Is there a way to rename them ?

sounds like driver problems as you suggest!
maybe omega drivers work with the quadro?

the other thing with decks renaming i also noticed, should be hopefully on the todo list... there are some annoying things is the deck interface which will be correctec in future with deck swichting i think ;)

Hey Crasse

If the problems persist after Herrnieda's suggestion of updating the drivers (http://www.omegadrivers.net) doesn't work, please send us a crash report (PC: C:/Documents and Settings/[username]/Application Data/Resolume/Resolume Avenue 3 log.txt) at support[at]resolume[dot]com

Also thanks for the find of the deck renaming. It's been added to the list.

Hi there ! (sorry for the late response, work and stuffs...) so now it works when launching with dual screen ! youhou !! :D Thanks a lot for your help !!

So here is what I did :
- as u told me, updated to omega drivers
- disabling my anti-Virus (Avast) cause I read somewhere that somebody gots problems with resolume and dual screen due to his anti-virus software

And now it launch each time without problem !!

anyway I upload my resolume log, if somebody wanna check it (maybe there is still some problems, I dunno) it's a 7zip archive cause txt aren't allowed here for upload.

Thanks again :) !!

I also updated to the 3.1.3 release, so nice ! cause I use to switch between decks, and no more lags while swtiching now, you're really doing a great job guys !
