I know Resolume added some nVidia specific "features". I am looking into buying a new PC and keep seeing the ATI mobility radeon HD4650 in a lot of machines. the 3Dmark scores for this card are pretty nice considering the price (it outperforms a nVidia 240m GT). Will I miss out on anything by going ATI (I will be using DXV codec)?
I thought about a macbook pro but they are just too expensive for my budget.
Also should I try to get an i7-720QM (1.7-2.8 45watt quad) or a p9700 (2.8 25watt dual). Will Avenue max out all 4 cores or only 1?

Re: ATI Mobilty Radon HD 4650
the ATI cards were optimized before the Geforce-Cards... so the Performance shoult be very good with this ATI-Chip...
the quad-core shoult be the better choice, but i think as long you don't run high resolutions the dual core will also do it's work! For Video Production the Quad Core is really more commendable!
The biggest bottlenecks on such a laptop seem to be the Harddrive.... SSD or external esata 3,5" drives should be used for playback for perfect performance!
