Multiple MIDI notes for one clip or parameter

Post by AV8R »

We are creating a setup in which Ableton Live is the main control station for Avenue, but this problem can exist in every master-slave situation.

Is there a streamlined manner in which we can map two MIDI notes (from different controllers) to one clip or parameter? (spoofing a third, virtual MIDI-note)
In that way, the person controlling Ableton laptop could start a clip via MIDI and the person on the Avenue laptop also can start that clip with a dedicated MIDI controller on the Avenue laptop.

The same goes for anything MIDI-controllable.

Thanks!

Though I'm not too sure if there's a way of directly doing this in Resolume, you can make use of the fact that Avenue parameters can be both key mapped and MIDI mapped. You could MIDI map one controller and run the other controller through something like Bome's MIDI translator. This can generate outgoing keystrokes from incoming MIDI notes.

You could also use any of the Novation controllers that use Automap - The Automap Pro package will send keystrokes instead of MIDI notes...
