Windows 7 32bit or 64 bit

Hello,
i want to upgrade my Laptop to Windows 7
at the moment it is Vista
I have a Toshiba Qosmio X300
-> Intel Duo Core P8400 2,26 Ghz
-> Nvidia 9700 GTS ( 512MB)
-> 4GB Ram

My question is
is it helpful with this Configuration to make an upgrade to Win7 64bit

For booth opportunites
32bit and 64bit
Toshiba supports all nessacery drivers

For Win7 32bit i must do an upgrade
but if i change to 64bit i must completely reinstall the computer

On the computer only runs resolume

Does it help resolume to make an upgrade to 64bit
or is it with resolume on 32bit the same performance

I have a HP DV2000 notebook with 4GB of memory and processor 64BIT.

I am a technology professional. I can say to you that the performance of the system 64BIT is 30% higher than the system 32BIT.

I use ResolumeAvenue with this setup and it works very well and with high performance and image quality.

Then I advise installing Windows7 64BIT.

For future travelers:

Although Avenue works fine on 64 bit systems, it is not specifically compiled for 64 bit, so there is no need to switch if you're on a 32 bit system.

But Windows 7 uses less RAM than Vista. And has a bunch of other nice improvements of course. I especially think of the shortcuts win+arrow keys and win+p for example. So it should make a difference (Correct me if I'm wrong). I don't have any benchmarks comparing the two OS while running Avenue. Just my point of view.

Oh and of course a 64bit OS needs more RAM in comparison to a 32bit OS. Really only makes sense if you go beyond 4GB of RAM. I myself am running 8GB.

before Win7 i used win xp and xp64 on my "8gb ram machine".
there was no difference between 32 and 64 bit so far
i now use win7 64bit and deck switching goes faster and my pinnacle videocard drivers and shuttle driver work now which was not the case on xp64....
it's simply 5 years newer win7...
vista i never used
