play clip and firewire

I need help:
So
In stage we will be 2 person: me ("vj") and my friend (the musician).

I think that I will play a PC with Resolume software.

And my friend will play a Pc with audio sequencer (Sonar 2.0, but I don't know the reason) software wich palys the base, and drumms, all the rhythmic parts, so this goes for is straght way, and he play the Access Virus to, doing the melodic parts.

If I didn't missunderstand, with resolume I can associate a note A (or better a 'midi signal input A') to a clip A . Is this true? I haven't tried it yet!

So i will put the the midi out of the Sonar in Resolume, and i will improvise with my clip's over the association of 'midi A' to 'clip A'.
Is this possible...?

Now I'm oriented to buy a ATI Radeon 9800 pro (someone knows somthing abou it in Resolume use?)
I will also buy more Ram as my wallet permise me.

But I don't have understand if i can buy a simple TRUST FIREWIRE IEEE-1394 PCI or if i must buy something like Pinnacle firewire 'studio dv'. wich Firewire allows multicamera live with resolume

As for the firewire: A simple pci firewire card like the TRUST is perfect. You can also try a webcam, it has lower quality but it's cheaper and some like the typical webcam look.

a radeon 9800 pro is ok i got one, but a lower (cheaper model is ok too)
except if you want too play hl2
