deck switching performance loss with s-video adapter

I'm using a mac book pro (2.5 Ghz Core 2 Dou, 2GB RAM, Nvidia Geforce 8600M) with windows XP SP2 and since version 3.1.3 the deck switching performance loss was nearly gone. yea! but when I connect a second output with apple's DVI to s-video/composite adapter the performance while deck switching again drops lower than 4 FPS. If I connect a TFT for second output direct via DVI and not the adapter the deck switching works smooth.
Any suggestions?

no, on mac os the framerate is nearly constant while deck switching with the adapter attached. but the overall framerate seems to be lower than on windows.
