need some help on projectors

Hello, I'm just starting with vj stuff. And I'm trying first to figure out what I need. I'm searching for a projector on a very limited budget... Once I found somebody that build a projector at home, but I lost the web page where it was!!!!! Maybe, there's somebody out there that can help me? Please?!!!!!!

i would suggest renting projectors - they are expensive to buy and bulbs are not cheap - put your money into a good PC/laptop and/or video mixer

definately rent, unless you see a stupid bargain somewhere, problem is that most really cheap proectors on the market only have a few hundred hours bulb life, and believe me you'll get through them if you use beamer alot, and then its 300 + for a bulb.

So rent until you get enough cash eventually to buy a decend bright LCD

You can also make an arrangement with the club you are playing that they rent the beamer and pay you separate. That way you can't be held responsible if the beamer breaks down.

a very good point RobertJan - i can't emphasise enough that if you rent, you MUST make sure someone has insurance to cover accidental damage - learnt that one the hard way!!!
insist the club hires the projector, or get a written contract that they are responsible for hardware in their club/venue.
