I am designing a piece and I want to make sure I understand a limitation of Resolume: Is it true that I cannot switch (cut, no transition of any duration) between clips without each time the next clip playing from its beginning?
Simple illustration: I imagine two movies playing that I want to switch between. I cannot play animation 1, then play animation 2, then switch back to 1 without it starting over from the beginning.
UNLESS I assign one clip to A and the other to B, then I can use the crossfader to go from A to B, but I cannot switch instantly between them. The closest I can get is to assign the fader to a midi control and very quickly transition from one to the other.
Am I missing something?
How about if I wanted to switch from a clip to Black and then back to the clip, does that open up more possibilities?
Can't switch between clips without them restarting, right?

These buttons are only available in Timeline transport mode. Use them to decide what happens when a clip is triggered. The first (default) option plays the clip from the start. The second option starts the clip from whereever it was when it was last played.

The timeline controls are for the behavior when triggered: either play from start, or resume from last position. This might do what you want.
However, if you want both clips to be playing, and switch between them while they are playing, then you don't have to use the crossfader. Just start both clips playing on different layers, with opacity at 100%, and then use the bypass button on the top layer, to turn it on and off.

Thank you for the replies, I will look into using bypass.
