Preview aspect ratio

Post by Bebn »

Hi all

I'm pulling together some visuals in 16x9. I've changed the res of my comp, but it looks like the aspect ratio of my preview window has to match my monitor aspect ratio. Is there any way I can preview in 16x9 (maybe across the centre of my screen) in my current setup while I save up for a widescreen display?

Cheers

Hey Bebn

Can you post a bit more info about your setup? In Res 3.1.3 and OSX 10.5.8, both the clip preview, output preview and windowed mode appear in whatever aspect ratio the composition is set to. Only in fullscreen mode does the window resize itself to the monitor resolution. Are you having a different experience?

I think it might be me being dumb... I'm using Pal 768x576, but avenue is square pixels isn't it? So my problems a bit more specific to using pal widescreen maybe....?

A resolution of 768x576 equals to PAL 4:3 in square pixels. If you want a PAL widescreen/16:9 aspect ratio in square pixels (and since that's what Resolume likes to work in, we recommend that), the resolution would be 1024x576.

Hope that helps.
