preview layers

First of all - Resolume kicks butt!

but I have a queastion/whish.

Is it possible to put an activation button on the layers, so you can see them in th e preview window, but not (yet) in the output window. them you can do a little tweaking like putting some FX to the vid, sync it with the music, and when it it perfectly right, blast your audience off their feet with a perfect mix of perfectly synced vids, with perfect effects! ;o)

the idea is kinda like the headphones of a DJ. he/she listens first if the new record is synced and then he/she creates the mix throughout the main speakers.

I don't know if this was already posted, or if this is off topic, or if this is already possible. (I couldn't find it)

sounds like a good idea but it,s not very easy to implement for us now. Hopefully at a later stage we will ...

this is more about previewing effects than previewing layers,
- what i would like, is to be able to set the default state for an effect as "off" when applied to a clip.
Often i'll trigger a clip, then later drop an effect on it, but the effect comes in with a different setting than i would like. It would be handy to be able to trigger the clip, apply the effect (turned off), adjust the parameters for it, then turn it on when i want it (this applies especially to effects dropped onto the mix - not just a clip).

what i do is apply the effect pre-show, change its alpha to 0 then hit the little save button.

That way, when i apply the effect to anything else, it defaults to transparent, then i can bring it up to full later.

when you drag an effect while holding down the ALT key the effect is applied with alpha set to 0. so you can fade the effect in nicely.

this also applies to shortcuts, using ALT+shortcut sets the effect to 0 alpha on the global output.

using CTRL+ALT+shortcut, applies the effect to a channel with alpha = 0.
