This is a bit of a slightly unusual approach but my thing is - i vj for a three piece psychedelic funk band - and i wish to trigger three very long video tracks - One for each song - the video has been pre- prepared and are synced exactly to the bands music.
I have three pre prepared videos set up this way - all about 8mins long. We did a gig last sat that we mapped from the keyboard players cuebase software.
In the practise before the gig they all triggered fine, but in the gig only one went exact - the other one stopped half way through and the other went out of time by a few seconds - which ofcourse blow the magic.
They were all mapped to the bottom layer in resolume avenue - with no other clips mixed in.
My question is perhaps for such long clips Dxv is not the best codec to use as they are such huge files.
and is there anything else i should of checked before - such as trigger mode - also i think perhaps the midi clock was on - which as the songs are played exact to the video already was not needed.
Its the first time iv done any mapping so all a bit new.
In time we hope to break all the music apart and sync the midi mapping up properly.
But for the time being a just wanted to use one long canvess layer.
The band consist of drums, guitar and keyboard synths etc
Any pointers greatly appreciated
