if i had a MIDI controller (the edirol PCR A30, say) could i control two devices at once? i.e. resolume on a laptop and an edirol v-4?
also - could the reverse work, where two different MIDI controllers would act on the same resolume/laptop combo, or on the same hardware unit (v-4)?
thanks!
jacob
MIDI controlling 2 devices
yes, you can do both of these.
You can get midi splitters to send the midi signals from a single controller to two or more devices (or you can daisy chain the devices using their inputsand outputs)
You can similarly get mergers or daisy chain devices so that you can use two or more controllers with resolume.
We do this with a midi keyboard and some midi sliders - like this:
keyboard -> sliders -> midi interface -> laptop
