hello loonyz !
i just started working with Resolum and i love it, but since my V.J set's are mostly from VCR tapes and DV tapes (since i can't bring my Huge computer where ever i go...) i wish to mix live at home and capture my work on my DV camera or VHS tapes for future use...how in jesus can i do that ?

i'm working on a PC with Matrox G550 card, Pinnacle studio delux and i feel like i'm missing something that will send the image to my camrea...adobe Premiere and Pinnacle studio sends the image stright to the DV or VHS/SVHS with the firewire/USB and that blue box with RCA IN&OUT connections that come with the Videocard (Pinnalce)..do i need another software or a card ?

thanks for your time...

peace love and happiness

your g550 should have composite and s-video out - can you connect that to the RCA or SVHS input on your DV camera?
that should work fine.
(you need the breakout cable for the g550 - doesn't come with it as standard but can be bought for about$25 US i think)

Ether hello.
i have a Breakout box which came with the Pinnacle studio delux, it has RCA/SVHS in and out (i think it's called composite and s-video in and out).
the point is that i did try to plug it with the RCA and the S-video whille working with Resolume, i used all options i know (including the Dualhead DVDMAX and the DualHEAD Zoom option) but nothing is showen in my camera.
the funny thing is that Resolume see's my camera when i stream live from it to the program and uses it as mixing with live footage, and when i work with Adobe Premiere or Pinnacle Studio software i can capture and brodcast from the camera to the computer, my head hurt abit for this since i think i'm doing the right thing ?!? i mean if all is pluged and i see my seconed monitor with video shouldn't send the same signal to the breakout box ( without opening Adobe premiere or Pinnacle studio delux) so it will be visible on VHS/S-VHS ?

the resolume output will not use your pinnacle breakout box
You need the breakout cable for your g550

http://www.matrox.com/mga/products/upgr ... bundle.cfm

this has RCA/SVHS out and will work when you use DVDmax/dualHeadZoom

hi Freak,

i think u want to mix some things with resolume and tape them, to your VHS or mini DV?
if this is correct u have 2 options (i think).
1 directly output your second monitor to the VHS/DV with composite or S-video.
2 record everything to your harddisk (with resolumes record function) and open the file in Premiere and then publish to tape...

good luck!

Hi Mediafreak

i use the dual-head zoom function - i find DVDMax is not always reliable (i use 320x240 clips and "dualhead zoom" the Resolume preview window).
If you are using 2 monitors (one for interface, one for output) and you are seeing your output on the second monitor - check all the settings for the matrox - NTSC vs PAL etc
also, check cable is not damaged?
