KEYSTONE correction

Post by Percival »

Hi Guys

I dont know how many people have already asked for this in the past...
But it would really be cool if we could have more handles to control more points in the keystone Grid.
It would be a lot more fun if one could control these handles in the composition window directly... instead of sliders in the effect panel...
Also a Correcting Keystone in the Z axis would be amazing to have... :P

Really looking forward to the next release and hoping its got more keystone correction features... ;)

Although we can totally see the usefulness of this, it's actually not so easy to implement. For instance, since it wouldn't be rectangular anymore, how would the video stretch/fit to the additional corner points? And how would Resolume know which corner point you'd be controlling in the output menu? And although the z-axis is a nifty idea, you can already achieve the same result visually with x and y sliders. So although they're really good ideas, it's unlikely we'll make them into features, I'm afraid.

The keystone with multiple points is something we would really like to see as well. At the moment this is hard to implement as we need to change quite a few things if we would let the user pick the points. But it is something we'll have a look at, but that would be something for version 4.
