Select and edit several clips at a time

Post by gavspav »

As I now have a sore finger I am making the following feature request:

The ability to be able to select more than one clip at a time - shift click? - and drag the group around decks/layers.

Also to be able to change settings such as Beatsnap/triggerstyle etc for all of the group.

Possible you can already do this and I haven't spotted it?

Yep, agree, and let me just add something, when you select a layer (with a clip in it) in the clip proprieties he doesn't give you that clip proprieties unless the deck in witch that clip is original from is loaded.

It would be very very useful if by selecting the layer he could give you instantly the proprieties in the clip proprieties in that layer without having to had the original deck witch that clip is originally from selected or focused.

it would also be very nice to be able to copy / paste clip attributes / fx between clips.

Yes, this would be a big time and wrist saver. It's added to the list.
Also to be able to change settings such as Beatsnap/triggerstyle etc for all of the group.
Our resident Max guru gpvillamil has a patch for this: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=5825

Indeed. We are working on this, and actually had it as part of the 3.2 beta release. It then still proved too buggy to implement as part of the official release.

You can already alt-drag effects between clip, where all the attributes are retained. Or do you mean copy-paste specifically?

cool - that's rather handy.
though actual copy paste to multiple target clips would be better for me as the process of drag and dropping an effect onto several clips is still a bit RSI inducing, not to mention the possibility of missing clips..

+1 for the shortcut. long live ctrl+c > ctrl+v :D

if I would want to copy attributes to more than one clip I had to remain dragging and dropping, dragging and dropping. with the attributes in memory I could easily select the next clip ctrl+v, next clip, ctrl+v. Or even multi-select clips and ctrl+v
