Hi
I need to re-encode a pile of clips to DXV to improve performance.
I read another thread here that recommended MPEG Streamclip, so I installed v1.2
I have also installed the Resolume 3.3 trial and the DXV standalone installer, but DXV still does not show up in MPEG Streamclip as an available codec.
What am I missing?
Once I have DXV inside of MPEG Streamclip, can I batch encode all my clips to the faster format?
Thanks
Best way to batch encode to DXV??

Re: Best way to batch encode to DXV??
Just to add some detail - I have Win 7 and I have tried After Effects CS3, but AE also doesn't show DXV as an available encoder. Why is it not installed?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Best way to batch encode to DXV??
i installed QT Alternative v1.81 - is that OK?
Re: Best way to batch encode to DXV??
I think you need Quicktime since the DXV codec is listed under the Quicktime MOV format. Regarding batch conversion, you should try out the Adobe Media Encoder (don't know whether it comes with CS3, however its available with CS4 and CS5 for sure).
Re: Best way to batch encode to DXV??
Copy:
C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QTSystem\DXVWindows.qtx (If it's not there, install the DXV codec using its own installer.)
to
C:\Program Files\QuickTime Alternative\QTSystem\
Hopefully that should do the trick.

Re: Best way to batch encode to DXV??
OK, copying the file did not make the encoder appear in MPEG Streamclip.
I uninstalled QT Alternative and reinstalled QT.
The codec appears inside Premiere Pro CS3 now.
I also noticed that Adobe Media Encoder also appears in the Export options of Premiere Pro CS3, but I am unsure how that will help me batch encode?
How do I use Adobe Media Encoder to batch encode my clip library, and what settings should I use for best performance in Resolume?
Thanks for the help!

This might help other people:
http://tv.adobe.com/watch/digital-video ... a-encoder/
It's weird that you can't start the Adobe Media Encoder alone, but at least you can access it through Premiere.
I'm going to try encoding a batch of clips to DXV tonight by dragging them into the render queue for Adobe Media Encoder.

Re: Best way to batch encode to DXV??
Another question - Do the encoder settings in Adobe Media Encoder have any effect if I have chosen to use DXV? DXV does not have any options available, but you can still choose things like quality, frame rate, aspect, etc..
The render queue shown in the tutorial video does not appear in CS3, so I may have to demo CS5 in order to do this.
Argh

A different quality setting *should* not have any effect, but changing the resolution, alpha ignore/retain, aspect ratio or framerate will.but you can still choose things like quality, frame rate, aspect, etc..
