I always wanted to ask this and now time has come
I realized that any effect's parameter I attach to the dashboard gets reset to 0 when I restart Avenue. However this only happens to address the layer's and the clip's effects. Composition effects are fine and the dashboard itself stores the values correctly as well. For a clear understanding of what I mean see the pic:
