column numbers disappeared

I was loading up some decks and i had about 58 columns. i didnt need that many as only 50 of them have clips. As soon as i started to delete the columns numbers disappeared. all but the last number. i preceded to delete all of the ones i didnt need. i saved and restarted and still they are gone. for reference i would like to see the numbers.

using res 3.3.1 dxv 2.1.1 and on a mbp i7 mac 10.6.4 and snow leopard i believe.

anyone had similar problems?
