rotations in 3d

Post by ondrejsevcik »

one more question
i have circle mandala (just picture)
i want to make it rotating like a clock (clip properties, rotate Z - timeline)
and then i want it to rotate around X axis so it looks like rotating like a clock and lying on the ground.

i cannot make the X rotation in layer properties (because it rotates oddly) but just in composition properties which is not much suitable because all other layers are affected too by this rotation.

any idea?

thx

on my preview i can't see any difference between rotation of comp and layer/clip, but the base rotation speed in the timeline is different between composition and layer/clip
should'nt be like this i think, and it is not depending on the resolution as far as i figured out!
if you turn both (comp and layer/clip) in a different direction it kind of wobbles... seems it's the same speed but one timeline runs linear (in layer/clip) and like a bezier in comp, that's why it looks oddly

They both should be running linearly. There can be a slight wobble when they loop, but there shouldn't be a big discrepancy. Can you send a screecap?

just saw it now... maybe it only happens on osx version.... i'll try to make a video of it

edit: just tried with copernicus but it did'nt worked for me... to few frames...

also tried a picture with the same resolution of the comp... also doestn't matter...

and by the way... some effects react wrong for me in widescreen composition (and also panorama of course)...
