anyone got any ideas why I can only play 3 layers at 640 x 480 @ 60fps?
My laptop is a mid 2009 MBP (2.6ghz c2d with 4gb ram and 256mb 9600m geforce gt)
I've just upgraded to the Vertex 2E 60gb SSD (285mb / 275mb)
Most of my clips are all DXV
any more than 3 layers and it starts dropping frames, also enabling the record function drops the framerate even more.. This used to happen with my old internal 5400 hard drive, but the new ssd should have improved this a lot I would have thought?
Can anyone shed light on this - or report back with their SSD performance so I can judge what the problem might be?
Poor Performance with SSD
Re: Poor Performance with SSD
hmmm, im not a ssd expert but i would suggest getting all of you clips re-encoded to dxv 2.1.1 and make sure they are all 640x480. Have you seen the SSD thread? im sure on there it has a lot about performance.
This might be a start. hope its helped some.
Here is the thread and its quite active most of the time.
