is that the size of the clip you want to use? or do you want to render at a different resolution?

i would like to keep it the same. the file was originally a .mkv file that i converted into .avi. the settings for that conversion were 1920 X 1080p. when i drop in FCP, it still shows as 1920 x 816 video.

hmmm sounds strange so it is dropping the resolution when you import into FCP? are you sure it exported at 1920x1080?

Re: 1920 X 816 avi conversion with FCP
i converted the file last night with issues.
the original format was a 1920 X 816 MKV. I dropped it in Aunsoft MKV converter. i converted with the settings, keep original frame rate, original quality, original frame size, convert to HD dvix. everything converter fine. final output was a 1920 X 816.
next i dropped in FCP and went to convert to HDV MOV and when i woke up this morning to check the finished conversion, it was not 1920 X 816, but it was 1920 X 1080p. it cut off the sides of the video.
