Resolume feedback to flash movie

Post by fb2003 »

Hi,

Currently I'm vj'ing with an Arkaos NUVJ, which comes with nuvj software. Now i've bought an ohm64 and i'm looking for a new vj software.
In 2 years i've used the nuvj my flash visuals collections became quite large. And almost al my visuals react to a bpm signal nuvj sends to the flash movie. So in flash the parameter 'beattime' would be 1 for a short time according to the bpm I tapped in. This is a very very handy function.

My question: is it possible to do this in resolume? In the manual I don't see anything on flash and a bpm parameter?

hey,

maybe not an answer to your question but good to know for an OHM64 & Resolume user:

I'm not quite sure how NuVJ handles this, but it sounds like you can publish a normal slider parameter, which 'bangs' your beattime object once it reaches a certain value (> 0.9 for instance). Then if you set this slider to beat sync in Resolume, you have your timer functionality.

I hope that makes sense.

Hi Joris,

The slider > 0,9x seems to do it job :D .
I also have a question not related to the bpm.
The ohm64 has a 8x8 button grid for clip triggering.
Is it possible to make a 8x8 grid in resolume for 1 layer?

you mean 8x8 grid in one deck, right? that would be 8 clips on 8 layers. press +L on os x and ctrl+L on windows to add a new layer to your comp. be aware that the layers will be added composition wide.
otherwise i don't understand what would be the rows if the columns were clips.

PS: anything is possible with coding and the ohm on fire :ugeek:

Jup I know it's possible to make 8 layers (rows). But I is it possible to merge the 8 rows so it will act as 1 layer?

Not directly, but via Composition->Layer target you can set the layer target of the clips to be the active layer, as opposed to the row/layer that they're on.

I hope that's what you're looking for.
