Quartz Causing Interface Hang

Hi

I been using Quartz patches of recent and have really been enjoying these but the last couple of times I have had odd interface hangs where the whole interface has become unresponsive. A couple of times I have had to force quit to get out and another couple I have found that that right clicking the avenue menu has unlocked this behavior.
Has anyone else had this issue its just I have a big gig at new years and want to use these patchs but am nervous about it if Avenue is going to lock up. Is there any particular thing that would cause this, that I should be looking at?
Just a side note, I am running on a Hackintosh but I don't see why this would affect it as everything else is running well.

Should have mentioned that the patches I'm using are based on your still image player for playing folders of images.
