Dell XPS L701x without ExpressCard and FireWire??

Hello everyone,
I was almost ready to buy Dell XPS L701x (i7 QM740, 8Gb, 2x500Gb, GF. 445M+3Gb, 2xUSB3.0, eSATA, HDMI, miniDisplayPort) but it has no firewire and no expresscard connections!!

Moreover, I checked other brands like Asus, Acer, HP etc, all they have no such connections also!

How I can use my dv camcorder or other camera ?
Did I miss something? I have rather very old laptop, and I though firewire is a must or it could be emulated thru ExpressCard adapter.


I like Dell configuration but it could be hard to work without connections, is it current tendency on the market?
Is there a solution ?
