Trigger Finger with Resolume?

Post by Agent Orange »

I've been working on trying to come up with an ideal setup for Resolume with a Trigger Finger, but it's slow going.

So far all I've really decided on is using 3 of the faders for layer opacity, and the 4th for the crossfader, then I've got 6 of the knobs mapped to the dashboard.

I can't really find a good use for the pad grid, because of the way resolume assigns midi control. It would be awesome if you could assign midi control to empty slots, not to the clips themselves, as it gets pretty confusing if you have to move clips around. I've considered using the top 3 rows for triggering 3 layers of clips, and the 4th row for switching decks, so essentially you'd have 36 clips at your disposal, with only 16 physical pads, and it makes sense visually.

Does anyone here use a Trigger Finger with Resolume? If so, I'd love to hear how you have it mapped out.

have you tried the application midi mapping instead of composition midi mapping?
as far as i know you can assign the clips from the active layer, so you could trigger for example:
8 clips
4 layers
4 decks

which makes much more clips if you need it ;)

also you can change the octaves for more midi assigns
