possibilities using midi in resolume

Post by Mayaand »

I have never used it, so sory me if my question is a bit dumb, but had to ask

Is i possible to get a midi output from a MAC computer and use at as a midi in to Resolume on a pc, if someone is using lets say virtual dj an then get a midi signal out from that

As i understand this can be done with abbleton live but can u get the signal from another program over in abbelton and from there to the pc ?

thx

you can traqnsmit midi between any computer platform or hardware - midi is a system of communication which works across all platforms.

what you suggest is possible as long as the software in question has the ability to send midi data ( not all software that can recieve midi, will send midi )

Yes, absolutely. You can either get a MIDI adapter for each computer and use a MIDI cable, or use something like this: http://www.tobias-erichsen.de/rtpMIDI.html

It's a MIDI over network driver for Windows that is compatible with the built-in MIDI networking in Mac OS X.
