No we've never thought about it. Should we be thinking about it? ;)

sorry for the delay in responding -

yes you should is the short answer ;) -

for the long answer see bellow -

i had thought that v1 would make a very good teaching tool - and as you have now moved over to avenue which is so different from the v1 and that presumably is ware you make any monies from - which would lead me to think it would be very boneverlant to give away v1 to peeps who would not be able to aford avenue - for peeps who are teaching vj'ing then to be able to give them a copy of a basic clip trigger soft - v1 -

i could go into the whole marketing idea behind this but i dont want to seem like a capatilist pig dog ;) but for a soft that is no longer sold, and im presumeing sold then on a marking basis im sure you can work the pro's and cons of doing it

like i say it was just an idea and if you dont like it fine - i just thought that it might be nice to give back to the comunity teachers who are tirelessly pluging your soft to peeps who know nothing about vj'ing - who then if they are interested in following that path something to play with until they move to v2 or ave

Wow. Resolume 1. Back when 320x240 was considered high definition, trance tunnels were considered cool, and Hannibal had just marched across the alps on his elephant.

We've recently been talking about revamping older versions of Resolume actually, so I'll throw this one into the mix as well. Thanks for bringing it up!

We certainly see the appeal of having a free version of R1 as a 'gateway drug' to getting people into Avenue. However the workflows for the apps are so different, any people trying out R1 could wind up really disappointed.

Also, more importantly, since R1 is no longer being developed or maintained, we can't offer support on it, so we can't guarantee it'll work on Vista/Win7, or in time on newer operating systems. We do still offer this support on R2.41, and you can get R2.41 for free if you buy Avenue.

So long story short, good idea, but it's not going to happen ;-)
