Hello everybody! I am new to Resolume and to this forum. So maybe this is a newbie question - but can anyone tell me where the DXV codec is installed to (folder) under windows XP Pro? Installed it today and it is not listed with my other video codecs, so in fact I can not render my clips with DXV. I am trying this with Video Deluxe 17 Plus ...
Any help will be appreciated.
DXV codec not listed with other codecs
Re: DXV codec not listed with other codecs
The DXV codec is a quicktime codec, does Video Deluxe 17 Plus support exporting to Quicktime?
Re: DXV codec not listed with other codecs
Yes, it supports Quicktime. I have the choice of various codecs for rendering to mov. Unfortunately the DXV does not show up in the list of available codecs. As it seems Vide Deluxe is diplaying all those codecs which have their dll-file in windows system 32. Accordingly it would be extremly helpful to know, what the name of the DXV codec's dll-file is and where this file was saved, when I installed the codec to my system. It might help, if I just could find the dll and copy it to the Windows System 32 folder, so Video Deluxe can find it ....
Re: DXV codec not listed with other codecs
The codec is installed in the standard Quicktime folder: C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QTSystem\DXVWindows.qtx

thanks for this info. unfortunately it doesn't help. maybe video deluxe can not handle the real qt-codecs but instead just codec such as sorensen ect. which can render to mov.
what a mess ... usually i render to divx. any suggestions how to convert from divx to dxv? which converter? thought about upgrading to quicktime pro, however, i cant't get quicktime player to play the divx files even though i downloaded the latest software from divx, which was supposed to enable qt-player to diplay divx rendered clips. this also does not work .... quicktimeplayer is only showing a black screen when playing divx coded clips.

Re: DXV codec not listed with other codecs
ok - found a solution. i am now rendering the clips from video deluxe in raw-avi format (huge files!!). upgraded my quicktime to quicktime pro. since qt-pro reads the uncompressed avi-files i can now use it for converting them to dxv-compressed mov-files.
Re: DXV codec not listed with other codecs
Really old thread I know, but Google presented it on top;
I had the same problem, turns out that since I use QuickTime Alternative 1.81,
I had to copy the 2 DVX .qtx files into
C:\Program Files (x86)\QuickTime Alternative\QTSystem
(I use QT Alt because of MPEG StreamClip).
