Feature request

Post by Cultor »

Hello,

I've been working with a vertical display setup aligning 2 displays vertically on top of each other.
The problem I encountered was this:

Image

I couldn't reach the OK button! (fix, press 6 times on TAB and hit enter)
The total hight of the output displays was larger than the display I used so important parts of the Advanced Display Options I couldn't reach.

It would be great if the Advanced Display Options would be resize able.
or
If the buttons would be positioned on top of the Advanced Display Options.

Cheers!

just a thought for a workaround:
if you arrange the 2nd or 3rd display under (or maybe also over) your main display, you should be able to set it up.
just tried it on my macbook, there is no problem with the window size, and i can drag the window so that i split it on 2 monitors ;)

All in all we never figured people would be using the advanced screen setup this way. The additional options you'll have in the screen setup on Res 4 should make this a non-issue, but for the time being I'm curious what you can achieve by placing the screens like this, that is not possible by placing them side by side (in the software)?

Hey thanks for your reply.

I understand that it's not an option many people would use so here is a bit more info about why I use Resolume like this.

Im working on a projection mapping project where we use 2 projectors to project a projection on a church. Those projectors are rigged sideways (so aspect ratio of 4:3 turns into a 3:4 ratio) on top of each other.
Additionally we use software that is able to morph the output of Resolume seamlessly together creating a single image without overlaps.

So we have to setup Resolume like you see in the screenshot in the first post, 2 displays with a combined resolution of 768 x 2048 :)

why dont you just make your footage to fit a horizontal setup, but arrange the screens or projectors upright so that it all fits in the end.

you could also use irmappio to remap the screens to fit the right orientation. - that way you wouldnt need to re-encode each of your clips in advance.
