Hello,
When I drop some dxv files on the deck area, very often but not always, Resolume shows me a very small thumbnail of the video, about 1 quarter of the normal thumbnail size. Otherwise, the files output well.
I do not have the problem with the same files encoded in h264.
Does anybody has a idea of what I can try to fix this ?
Thanks a lot.
(Edit) I forgot to add that the problem occurs on my laptop but NOT on my desktop, with the same exact files.
Small thumbnails with DXV
Re: Small thumbnails with DXV
We've had some issues with DXV thumbnails in Explorer, but not within the app. Could you send us your logfile so I can make a bug report?

Re: Small thumbnails with DXV
Hello goto10,
I think I have found what causes the small DXV thumbnails. It's seems to be related with the NVidia Optimus graphic hardware in my laptop, an Asus K52JC.
To fix the problem, I have deleted all the files in AppData/Roaming/Resolume Avenue 3/Previews. Then, I have launched Resolume by right clicking on the shortcut and telling Optimus to always use the discreet graphic card for this program. When I load my Composition file, all the thumbnails are regenerated at normal size.
My problem now is that Resolume run very instable when launched with the option to use the discreet graphic. A look at the config.xml, recreated at launch, shows that Resolume still pick the Intel integrated graphics instead of the NVidia GeForce 310M :
-<screenSetup useAdvancedContextsSettings="0">
<default enabled="0" fullscreen="0" displayNum="-1"/>
<simpleContextsSettings/>
<advancedContextsSettings>
<context displayNum="-1" deviceDesc="DISPLAY1 - Intel(R) HD Graphics" deviceName="DISPLAY1" isFullscreen="1" isEnabled="0" deviceId="DISPLAY1 - Intel(R) HD Graphics\Registry\Machine\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video\{7B45B4D5-DB27-459C-9D87-D08D2ABD8ECC}\0000"> <bounds top="1" right="1" bottom="0" left="0"/>
</context>
</advancedContextsSettings>
</screenSetup>
The question is how can I make Resolume to always use the discreet graphic in my laptop ?
I have attached my logfile.
Thanks a lot.

Re: Small thumbnails with DXV
Resolume does not choose the Graphics card, the data you see in the 'Config.xml' is just info we use to find the correct screen. We don't force the use of a specific Graphics Card.
I don't now how this Optimus technique works as we don't have a card or machine to test it with. What do you mean by instable, does it crash randomly? What kind of problems do you run into?

Re: Small thumbnails with DXV
Hi edwin,
I launch Resolume with de Demo composition, I click on a clip, it plays but with flickering for 2 or 3 seconds, then Resolume freeze.
Interrestingly, If I launch Resolume with an empty composition, I don't touch anything and, when the beats counter reach around 30, Resolume freeze. It does that every time.
