May put a "lock layer" button?
In my case, when i change to diffrent decks, some layers not need to change. Now we need duplicate all content in this layers in every deck.

seconded for both! I would love to be able to to seperate the layers from the content 2.4 style, and be able to lock/minimize a layer, like my quartz twitterfeed overlay or logo.

May layers be saved separately? If the final composition can be more modular, do not need to save large compositions with many decks. We may mixing any layer of any composition to a new one and save as another comp.

Thanks for all your suggestions.

As it stands now, layer locks will be introduced as a new feature in R4. All other requests in this topic are noted, but won't be part of a release any time soon.
