Audio reactive .QTZ files, I want to change teh audio source

Post by Stickygreen »

So, like the title says, I am working on a project that used audio reactive .qtz files, and I need to change teh source of my audio from the laptops built in mic, to an external one. How do I go about doing this, i"ve tried in the computer settings, and I can't find it in Resolume's settings? Is it in Quartz I need to specify this? or am i missing something?

If your QC patch reacts to sound by itself (ie when playing in the QC editor), you'll need to look for the Audio Input node inside the QC patch, and change it to whatever source you need by hitting CMD-2.

However, I'd recommend publishing the parameter that the Audio Input patch is driving, so that you can let Resolume handle the FFT. That way you can easily change the input, plus you have control over the frequency, fall and gain in a live situation as well.

Hope that helps.

So it turns out, that I need a line level microphone, as I am using a 2009 MBP. you'd think the do everything mac would let you plug in a cheap mic, but nooooo..... I've got to go buy more stuff.

thanks for the suggestion goto10, I'm still just experimenting with QC, but this is a great way to learn how to modify other peoples patches. thanks.
