Routing audio from a track in Ableton to Resolume

Post by THEFAFER »

Hi There,

Super N00b here, I'm struggling to work out how to route audio from just one audio track (drums) in ableton to resolume to control effects parameters via audio fft. i've tried using soundflower from ableton to resolume (audio fft) but then ableton is slient because i have to set its audio out to soundflower.

Thanks

I'll be honest i dont. Im just starting out with ableton and Resolume and so far my knowledge of hooking the 2 up is poor. Good luck and if you find a solution then please share :)

Avenue will here anything that is playing on your soundcard (except asio), so any music playing from ableton to your sound card can be used in Avenue, but there is no way i know(on a pc) of to route only one track (drums) to avenue. You can play around with VAC (virtual audio cable) to see if that will work :)
desktop: Windows 7 64bit , i7 920 2.66Ghz, 12Gb Ram, GTX 950 2Go, WD Velociraptor 300Go, terratec asio phase 26 usb soundcard & midi,Novation Nocturn controlpad, Akai MPK mini, and soon to come : BCR 2000 :))

One workaround would be to use an audio to MIDI plugin. And then route the MIDI to Resolume with MIDI Yoke.
I frequently use MIDI CC data drawn in an Ableton envelope clip to trigger Resolume effects. If necessary I'll use a MIDI OX mapping transform to modify the MIDI input before it outputs to Resolume to have even more control over the Resolume effects.
