Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit
Processor: AMD Phenom II x6 1090T
Videocard: I've tried several, NVIDIA and ATI. Currently ATI Radeon HD 5570
File type: .MOV
Codec: DXV 2.1
I have been unsuccessfully trying to convert AVCHD/H.264 videos to quality DXV files for about a year (and yes, I've tried transcoding into other formats before going to DXV!). The weird thing is that the DXV videos play perfectly sometimes (usually right after they're rendered), and I can do a VJ session, but eventually they get these weird blocks and crash both Quicktime and Resolume (error messages are copied below). On subsequent plays, the blocks appear in the same spots in the videos.
I have tried rendering the DXV files through Quicktime, Sony Vegas 9, and Adobe Premiere CS5. I have tried every setting under the sun, including different file sizes, frame rates, etc etc. I've set up RAID0 drives to render on. Do you all have any idea as to what could be causing these video files to stop working? I am sending my Resolume 4 log from my AppData and a picture of the blocking to the Resolume e-mail address.
One other note: I have tried moving the files to a 32-bit Windows 7 machine, a Windows Vista machine, and a MacBook Air and have had problems playing them back on all three. So perhaps the problem is in the file rendering?
I've tried reinstalling Quicktime (a few different versions), Resolume and the DXV codec and even tried a complete system wipe... only installing Adobe Premiere and the DXV codec... still had the problems.
Do you all think it's a video card problem? A problem with the hard drive where I render and store my videos? A conflict with a Windows service? I simply can't figure it out! (I've probably spent 100 hours of my life on this! I want it to work because DXV looks so fantastic.)
