So I bought Resolume to eventually do a sync'd live audio visual show. While I haven't use Resolume 3 for audio as of yet, I decided to take Resolume 4 Arena for a spin. The result is that 2 tracks playing back at 126 (WAV's rendered out of ableton, beat grided and double checked) drift out of time within the first 10-15% of the song and gets worse and worse as time goes on.. Its a complete trainwrek. Extremely disappointing.
The BPM in resolume is set to 126 so there isn't even any stretching going on . And I'm using a clean page with no video even (god only knows what will happen when I introduce video)
I just went back to Resolume 3 and it seems that it stays in sync there.. although I'm nervous after the complete disaster in v4 in Resolume's ability to handle audio at all. Only issue in Resolume 3 is that when I bring in the 2 audio tracks its telling me its 125.9996 and 126.005.. I have to manually type in 126 flat and then it stays in sync. In v4 its telling me its 126.0000..but wrecks within the first 30 seconds.
I'm using onboard audio to test but have the latency set super high to make sure there are no glitches. Works fine in Ableton.

That's just because v4 has a bug that keeps it from accepting floating numbers @BPM. Ticket is already made.gregsully wrote:In v4 its telling me its 126.0000..but wrecks within the first 30 seconds.

I'm not sure if these problems are related. Can you send us the clips so we test and hopefully prevent our software from turning into a 'complete trainwrek'?That's just because v4 has a bug that keeps it from accepting floating numbers @BPM.

I can link you to a shared dropbox folder with the WAV files. What email address will I share the folder with?goto10 wrote:...Can you send us the clips so we test ....

Re: Audio to Audio Sync is Horrible
OK.. sent you 4 WAVs in a drop box folder.. Contact me direct if that does not work.
I hope to get this worked out.

Re: Audio to Audio Sync is Horrible
We have indeed encountered a bug with rounding of bpm numbers. This has been fixed in the second beta.
When I tried to sync two arbitrary 126 bpm songs together, they kept in sync with the new beta.
Unfortunately, the "auto" bpm always has a small error. So if you know the tempo, it's best to enter it manually.
Could you try it again with your files on the new beta? Thanks.

Re: Audio to Audio Sync is Horrible
OK.. hey Tim.. I downloaded Arena Beta 2 and the sync is better/fixed.. However there still is an issue.. It takes a double click to get it on beat. After I click the first track/clip to start play.. the next clip I click on a different layer starts playing offbeat.. but if i click it again, it restarts on beat.. This happenes for everything else for the rest of the session.. Once a clip is playing.. one click on a new clip anywhere is off beat.. and a second click on the same clip is onbeat. I have beat snap to one bar on all clips..
Re: Audio to Audio Sync is Horrible
We've been trying to recreate this again, and we're not quite clear on what your issue is. How are the clips synced (beats/bmp/auto)? How far are the clips off beat? Is it always by the same amount?

will shoot a little video and upload it shortly..
