Interactive Wall Soft/hard ware.. suggestions?

Post by markfrancombe »

Im considering making a offer on a corporate job that Im not sure how to make or get working. Customer wants a "Video Wall" Maybe projected, (but HUGE anyway), that displays their products. OK no problem there, maybe I make in Resolume or Flash or whatever.. But... they want it to be so the wall itself is somehow interactive, maybe that you touch an image and it displays some extra information. Now this level of interactivity mightnot be right for Rezz, however as cool prjection dudes I thought you guys might know of a solution? Can Kinect work? Are there some "wall sensors" I could hide. The thing will be a relatively permanent display...

Any ideas...

That's not sooooooo difficult.......

You need:

Backprojectionsceen+projector or LED wall
Radar Touch or Air Scan sensor RADAR! & AIR!
A software called "Coolux Widget Designer PRO" WD PRO!
Resolume
One or two computers

Thats the Hard&Software

Airscan is plugged to a notebook with the Widget Designer Software. The Widgetdesigner receives all parameter of the Airscanner an is able to convert these values in everything you want.... RS232, MIDI, OSC, DMX...mousemovements....allmost everything.....even in your mother! :P

Have fun!

Hmm thanks for the info...

definitely food for thought.. Any ideas as to what these units cost, Im pretty sure the sky is the limit with my customer, but I these two prices are conspicuous by their absence.. Im thinking.. quite alot...?

What about more pedestrian techniques... Can Resolume recognise camera images for example?

Apart form being about to add the video feed and apply effects to it I dont see many other uses for the camera input. Can the image be used to warp, /move other parameters at all?

(realise Im in a different subject really... cept that Im interested in all kinds of user/sensor input and how it can move the screen image)

hmm...just let coolux make you an offering.

but my guess.
Widget Designer Pro = 500€
Airscan = 1000-2000€
