Custom Live Input Source Formats

Post by rpacker »

I am inputting live video into Resolume with an AJA Kona Lhe card, using component input. In the sources menu, there is a list of AJA formats to choose from. My video signal is 720p60, but I would like to select 720p30 as my format in order to decrease the latency as much as possible. Unfortunately, 720p60 and 720p50 appear in the menu, but not 720p30 or even 720p24. Is there a way to create a custom format such as in Final Cut?

Thanks.

Hi!
I have a Kona 3 and I want to use it for inputting live video too, but I haven't being able to do that... How did you do it?

My Resolume is not recognizing that source. It doesn't appear in the sources.

I went through quite a bit of trial and error, but in the end, found the best performance by going out s-video on my camera to the analog input of the Kona LHe. Now, much to my surprise, if you use a splitter on the s-video cable to Y/C (available at Tecnec.com), you then go in red and blue on the analog component cable to the Kona. You get a 480i signal. Be sure you have s-video selected in the Kona control panel.

I got this setup from an AJA tech named Keith. He was great! And it works!

The thing here is that I have a KONA 3, and it only has SDI Inputs.
And in Resolume I don´t even see my card under Sources. I don´t know if I need some plugin, driver or something.

Iconected a camera directly to the camera through SDI, and I am being able to see the camera using the "AJA Machina" software, but I cantsee it on Resolume.

Be sure you have installed all the AJA presets (there are more under custom) for your Kona 3. For me, they show up in the Resolume sources.

I have installed all the drivers for the Kona 3, and in Resolume I can only see the FFGL Sources, I dont have anything under "Capture Devices" (I dont have any webcam conected, only the Kona card). I dont know what you mean by "AJA presets" Is that on the aja Controll Pannel??

Since I'm not an AJA technician, I can't really answer your questions. I would suggest you call AJA technical support and tell them the presets (you know, like 1080p, 720p, etc., ) are not showing up in Resolume.

Let them know if they are showing up in Final Cut or whatever software you use.

If you don't know what the presets are, they can explain.

AJA support is really great, I'm sure they can help!
