Random pausing/freezing

First night actually using the new update and I got some random pausing/freezing on various clips.

Composition is 4 layers, 1024x768, but actual videos are 640x360 all DXV encoded.

At random times one of the layered clips would pause or freeze for 1 sec at the end of the clip then loop back (ex, clip is 8 secs, video pauses at the end, the timer on the transport for the clip counts for another second then loops as it should).

This happened to several clips throughout the night, but it's been hard to duplicate. I would go back later in the night and put one of the clips up and it wouldn't do it again, but another one would. I do have 1 clip that does it consistently (loops seamlessly in 4.0.0, Quicktime, VLC)

I'm having a similar issue on my MBP, ever since I installed 4.0.1 (running the 4.0.0 release version or the 4.0.1 update)

A simple 3 layer, 480p composition with the Resolume provided clips. The clip on the selected layer starts, frozen. When you select a different layer via the main controls, it unfreezes and that layer freezes OR (more often) Arena just completely shuts down without warning.

I was trying to teach using the software last week and it was hard because everyone's 4.0.1 kept crashing just as they were getting into it. This is on my MBP and on iMacs all of reasonable spec.

Before I installed 4.0.1 everything was ok, although there were some niggles as documented on this forum. Now Arena is unusable for me. I have yet to try uninstalling 4.0.0 all together as when the update kept crashing, I hoped I'd be able to run the old version instead.

I'm going to chalk this issue up to there being a problem with the composition. After loading the problem files in a few new compositions, this isn't an issue anymore (this was a master comp that changed numerous times).

Yesterday, I also decided this was an issue with "old" composition files, as it seems to not happen with a new file built from old content from the ground up.

Also with these "old" comps, I have Arena 4 running, my Mac runs slow, my UI stops responding to mouse clicks and the graphics seem to be locking everthing up, before Arean unexpectedly quits.

So far, a new composition seems to work a bit better. When I was teaching last week, we were using the default shipped composition with the release, running the Shop Footage. That also kept crashing.
