Advice please! Resolume gurus... :D

Post by jjm35 »

Hello,
I am in need of mapping one button of my midi controller (Behringer BCR2000) to one cue point of the clip that is playing on that moment (every video will have one different cue point) so I can push the button on the controller and the video will go to the point marked in the cue point and continue playing from there (the same video was playing from the beginning until I push the button in the controller).
The idea Is that when I will push the button in the controller, whatever video that is playing will go to his cue point and continue playing from there. But must be only one button mapped in the controller for the video that will be playing, not one for every video.
Some idea? ...Difficult, uhh?? ;)

Thanks in advance

I don't feel like a guru, especially because the MIDI/OSC mapping types still confuse me :D

I think it should work with composition key/MIDI maps. But I don't know an easy way to learn the mapping, AFAIK you have to map for each and every clip.

for each clip do
select clip to be mapped
enable composition mapping (always the same MIDI note)
lean mapping
disable mapping
end

If you use the Application Midi Map for this, it should work like this out of the box.

Everything you map in the Clip tab whilst in App Midi Map mode is mapped for the active clip. So when you change clips, the shortcut is still applied for the new clip.

Hope that makes sense.

And whilst in Composition Midi Map, it works exactly the other way around, so each individual clip can have an different shortcut assigned to its cue points (sorry to correct you Rene, but your guru status was already approved anyway ;-))

Ah ohh okay. I should spend more attention while reading questions. I thought the question was how to trigger a certain cue point of ALL clips at the same time. shame on me! ;)

Ok, tested and working. thank you very much.
Now i have a jump on the video that is playing (as logical) when I push the triggerkey but I will investigate the possibility that include some type os crossfadind when go to the new playing position for smoothing results
