Advance output FPS

Post by VJYosh »

Had come across this weird situation: when ever I use the advance output option to map different parts of my composition to different video outputs (be it in the same video card of the console or another one),
the FPS drops dramatically to 30FPS on first 'screen' added, and another 5-10FPS for each on added to the list

on the other hand, if i select output to full-screen\windows, the FPS stays the same no matter the comp size. it's not usable because i mostly use the advance output in order to enable complex projection setups but
never the less...

the cards are always hi end discrete graphics and never the on on board graphics.

did someone experience the same?

After checking some older post I found that disabling the V-Sync on the graphics card settings boosts the FPS to around 60-80 but cause some jittering on images going from left to right or the opposite...any solutions?

i cannnot confirm your post as we used 70 slices the last time and the framerate was around 30.
we figured out that opening arena, playing around with the vsync and most important, switching to a windows theme that doesnt use windows aero and than back to an aero one creates mostly a better framerate.

we also noticed fps drops randomly on just specific clips, if you restart arena and use the clip again, the fps drop is gone but maybe happens on another clip. we simply avoid those clips then, but this is not a perfect solution ;). Also the setup, where we have that problem, has a composition size of 9600x800px, so i really do understand the low fps, but the random drop is nevertheless strange.

has been pin pointed, as suggested, to use of more the one GPU and the V-sync always off setting. another advice is to USE aero theme, but then go into advance computer serttings and turn off most of it's advantages. it fixes the shutter\scan line that goes up\down on visuals. strange shit :?

I also suffer from the "shutter\scan line" when I output to multiply projectors. Can you explain exactly how you solved this. You said
turn off most of it's advantages. it fixes the shutter\scan line that goes up\down on visuals
which one causes the problem?
