Add Midi/Key Mapping to Advance Output and Cue point Labels

Post by samhodgkiss »

Hey All,

I think a great addition to the Advance Output would be the addition of making the interface map-able for midi/keyboard/osc/dmx like the rest of the Resolume interface. As i read in an earlier post, this would help with mapping screens, on an iPad for example, when FOH is far away or even out of direct site of the screen.

Also, the ability to scroll through your Mapping saved presets on the fly via a controller with out having to load the window and select with the mouse would also be fantastic. I find myself at festivals with complex led structures where 50% of my content works well with one map and the other %50 with another.

and finally, when setting cue points on a clip, showing a small label with a number on the clip timeline relating the where the cue point is set.

Keep up the good work.

Many thanks

Sam

And a lot of users agree with you on this, as you can see in the various threads on this topic. As mentioned in those threads, we can't make this a feature for version 4. We'll keep it in mind for future versions though.

Also, the ability to scroll through your Mapping saved presets on the fly via a controller with out having to load the window and select with the mouse would also be fantastic.
This would possible equire having to remove displays, and then building them again, which would result in a disrupted output stream. A practical solution to this, is to set up your composition so that content that works with a certain slice setup can be turned on or off by turning the layers on or off (via the crossfader for instance). The upcoming 4.1 update will allow routing layers to slices, making this even easier.

when setting cue points on a clip, showing a small label with a number on the clip timeline relating the where the cue point is set.
This is also already a feature request. This will probably be part of the interface overhaul of Resolume 5.
