maybe it's too late for this release,
but what about a function that imports a midi file (a song) and play it with video, instead of midi tones.
i.e. I assign to any notes a video channel, so it plays the "song" with images instead of audio.
So i can made my sequencies and instead of saving it with the "record" button, that creates a huge avi file, i can save it in .mid. of course i cannot save effects and transitions. it's a kind of controlled kaos.
thanks

i recon this would be a great idea, though i think the easiest way to do it would be only posible if you were controling resolume with a midi keyboard. as resolume gets the incoming midi messages it could just store them to a midi file, and to play it back just play the midi file and act as though its been played from an external midi device.
i have used programs that did this sorta stuff, you could play a midi file from like cakewalk or reason, and map it to a midi out, then other programs could use it as a midi in. i dont know the name of any such programs, but check out the tools section of the propellerheads page (makers of reason) that would be a hack to fix the problem in the short term.

im not sure exactly how all the sliders and buttons are hard coded atm, but i think they would have to re-write all of the code which might be more problematic then using an external midi player softwired into resolume

propellerheads have changed the layout of there site and i coudnt find the tools section but i found this: http://www.midiox.com/index.htm?http:// ... /myoke.htm

i think this might work havent had a chance to use it yet, i did get it working with cakewalk and rebirth ages ago.
ill give it a shot with some different midi programs pluged into resolume when i have some time, then report back here ;)

btw, is it just me, or is http://www.vjforums.com and http://www.vjcentral.com down???

ok, ive tried it, and got it to work. using a mid program "guitar pro" (the only midi program i have atm that has midi out)-> midiyoke ->resolume.

works fine atm, but it isnt to easy to switch midi files or record things from using guitar pro.

gtg now, more updates later
