DXV Codec for Win 7 won't install

Post by Bench »

Howdy, I'm a recent Resolume convert planning to do a fair bit more with the whole package.

Attempted to install the DXV Codec 2.2 on Windows 7 64-bit machine without any luck. Reinstalled Quicktime then tried again but it still didn't install. Running the exe it made it through the T&C and install screen all the way to "Finish" but still no luck. I'm running Adobe CS5.5 Production, neither After Effects nor Premiere show DXV listed, and checking the Video Codec list in the system settings doesn't show it either.

Suggestions?

Sorry if this is an obvious question, but DXV is a Quicktime codec, so it will show up as a codec option when you choose Quicktime as a format. It's not an actual format itself. Have you checked if this is the case?

Yep, I've checked in export QT settings in After Effects, Premiere, and MPEG Streamclip to no avail. Both during initial install and after reinstalling QT and running DXV install again.

Open Media encoder CS5.5, drag a clip in. Format> Quicktime, click on the preset- Ntsc, opens settings, go to Video> Video Codec> select DXV. If you installed R4 it also installs DXV. Cheers.
