BTW I can find no useful info when searching for live stuff. How do I even phrase the problem? "Live midi remote update rate"? I don't really understand where the problem lies. The latency exists when Resolume and Live and both running, but does not exist when it's only Resolume. The signal should be going from my MIDI controller --> Live --> Resolume (via MIDI Remote in Live). The latency exists no matter which MIDI utility I use, too.

It lies with Ableton, it is simply programmed to not send out the midi information via midi remote until you've stopped moving the fader. This is probably done to avoid choking the signal.

Yup, because the problem is midi remote in Ableton.

The solution is actually pretty simple, just map in Resolume and send on to Live. Resolume does not have a delay for midi output.
