Manually setting transition times? / inverting values / next

Post by jeanpoole »

Hello -
am wondering if these requests are missing features - or are things that maybe already exist, but I can't find them?

-----> Is there anyway to invert the value on a slider?
(eg one example - but the principle would be useful across mannnny….
instead of making rising audio levels changing the scale slider to get bigger, to shrink it instead… )

----> Options for triggering next clip in layer? eg a 'next' and 'previous' button?
( rather than setting keys for say 32 clips along a layer… just being able to press one key to go onto the next clip, at a given cue, would be great… )

and I really like the ability to set transition times between clips on the same layer… but

-->>> Is there any way of setting transition time between clips manually?
eg theatre director says - can we fade this up over 7 seconds?
Rather than adjusting slider… is there any numerical input for setting transition to 7 seconds?

thanks from oz~!

Parameter controlled by FFT can be set to shrink by hitting the play backwards button. Most parameter animation options can actually be played backwards this way. If you are controlling a parameter via midi, there is an invert checkbox in the bottom left during the midi mapping stage.

You can hit the left and right arrow keys for this. Shift + arrow keys navigates along the grid.

Transitions on a per clip basis is not possible. Setting the time numerically can only be done via OSC at the moment (/activelayer/transitiontime/0.7 is 7 seconds).

Thanks a bunch Mr.Goto!
- those tips solved the problems pretty well~!

I do really like that ability to easily transition between clips on the same layer...
but noticed another weird behaviours with it...

the same-layer transition fade time doesn't seem to be the same for fade up and fade down…
ie if layer transition set to 10 seconds and there's currently no clip playing, and I fade an image up by triggering it - it seems to get bright on screen fairly quickly, say around 3 seconds, and then goes gradually to full brightness over the last 6-7 seconds.... but if fading down - ie if i press the button to clear the current clip from layer, and transition is set to 10 seconds, it fades down quite slowly over the whole 10 seconds as you'd expect.... in short - fades up fast, fades down slow.... which has been quite noticeable in this theatre gig, and meant I've pre-rendered slightly longer fades on clips to deal with it...

( That 'arrow=next clip' function is going to help a bunch though, thanks! )
cheers from oz!

Strange, the fades are linear fades on the clip's alpha. Could you record a screencap of this happening?
