Would be handy to have this at layer level too.

The problem with adding triggerstyle settings to the layers is that it will become confusing very quickly when you set the clip target to free layer. Then you do not know when you trigger a clip in what layer it will end up and thus what kind if trigger style will be used.

How do you suggest we tackle this problem?

I understand. Though, I likely never use "target free layer" thus wouldn't be confused. And even if I did I wouldn't be confused if I knew what I am doing :mrgreen: The question is: do people who use "target free layer" use piano mode on a layer basis at all? Because if not, one mode could deactivate the other and vice versa and we'd be fine. Something like that … I have to think about it some more. Maybe what I mean isn't a triggerstyle setting added to layers but "multiselect clips > rightclick > set triggerstyle" … same as "select layer > set triggerstyle of all clips on that layer to piano" not the layer itself. Does that make sense?
