Or
PC Selfbuild
MainBoard: Asus P9X79 Deluxe
CPU: Intel E5-1650

I have TPH2G D that would be used to get 1 UI and a Max of 6 Outputs
Any ideas Remarks about the Hardware or the xpected Performanc
Thx for any help
Mac or Windows
Re: Mac or Windows
I'd maybes have a look and search for some older threads. This has been discussed before. Generally with PC you get more bang for your buck... if that's your currency.
Will this machine solely be for doing visual or will it be a working machine as well?

Re: Mac or Windows
Looking at your listed specs, I would go PC over Mac.
Any other configuration could change my mind.

Hi kingafro,
What are your requirements? What do you want to do?
I just want to point out, that the final decision might depend on your expectations and plans. For example on the Mac you get Syphon support and Quartz Composer integration. On the other hand on Windows you get more performance for the same money (I guess)?!
Just my 2 cents.

Re: Mac or Windows
I have just built a PC with the following specs and am very happy with it.
Asus P9X79 Pro
Intel Core i7 3930K
2GB GTX 680
16GB 1600 Memory
128GB OCZ Vertex 4 (System)
240GB OCZ Agility 3 SSD (Video Clips)
3TB Seagate (Storage)
It has been well documented on this forum that a single graphics card is better than multiple for Resolume. If you go with a 670 or 680 GTX then you get 4 outputs from the same card. Add a TH2Go and that gives you 6.

I don't know about well documented, but it had been said quite frequently. Couldn't find it in the manual where you would think it should be.Tecno` wrote: It has been well documented on this forum that a single graphics card is better than multiple for Resolume.
If it is there in the manual, please forgive me. Could of save alot of these talks and resolve dilemmas in graphic card selections or schemes.
It's just those little things that could bring you closer to perfection.

Maybe documented was the wrong word...fruitygreen wrote: I don't know about well documented, but it had been said quite frequently. Couldn't find it in the manual where you would think it should be.

It has been well covered on this forum...

Re: Mac or Windows
Is Mac Mini 2012 enough to run Resolume Avenue/Arena? It will solely run on VJing, the specs of the new Mac Mini 2012 is as follows:
Processor: 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5
RAM: 8 GB SDRAM
Hard Drive: 5 cessor: Intel HD Graphics 3000 processor
Operating System: Mac OS X Mountain Lion
I think the main question is, is the video card Intel HD Graphics 3000 sufficient to run both of the resolume programs with dual monitor? for live performance I intend to use the old Macbook 13.3 (Core 2 Duo, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256MB DDR3 Graphics Memory) as I don't have the budget yet to purchase a new lappy.
Cheers!

Re: Mac or Windows
Our advice is always to not use computers with Intel GPUs.
Judging from reports, for most people they work relatively well, but there are certain things that may make them unstable (especially working with secondary monitors and the advanced output). We cannot provide support for this.
