How do I apply one layer to the other if one of them was cut off by the mask ?
I want to trim the layer (№ 1) and create one other layer (№ 2) background for this.
For this I use a black and white mask(Mask 50), which is above the base layer(№1).
In the end, I get clipped by the mask layer on a black background (№1) - ok, but what do I do if I want to instead of black (around the mask) could see another layer(№2)?
The program includes all the layers are interrelated, so the mask does not cut a single layer(№1) but all the layers that are underneath (№ 1, № 2...)! so I can not use the other layer (№ 2) for the area which is not occupied by a mask.

Re: How do I apply one layer to the other by the mask?
Well, you can add a mask to the N1 layer, by applying a mask in the layer´s properties panel. That mask will affect only that layer. Just drag the mask image from the built in file browser into the layer´s properties panel.

Hi, what if I want to do the same thing with a video mask?

You can load videos with alpha channels on Resolume.
Or, you can load simple black and white videos and use them as a mask, using the layer blend method - luma key.
But this video mask will affect all other layers below.
The best way is to load your video already masked - with the proper Alpha.
