Permanent installations: media player?

Post by tyrone »

If a client asks for a permanent projection installation in their bar/club (just a looped video or similar) what is the best way to set this up so that even the dumbest club owner can just switch on the beamer without straining his brain cell? has anyone had experience with media players?

if its as simple as just a looping video - resolution dependant and providing its not mapped you could just used a DVD player?

Beamer should just find the input and press play is all you would really need to do :)

Assuming that this install is mapped, I would use a hardware based recorder to record the output of the computer and then play it back with a hardware based player. Even better if it can all be done with the same device. This avoids any scaling that various devices may do
